Joyce’s aim in teaching singing is to allow the student to grow in confidence as well as ability, to broaden their musical knowledge, and to achieve their own potential. Everyone learns at a different rate and has their own scale of achievement.
The lessons are flexible and allow you to work at your own pace. Perhaps you would like just one lesson to help you through an impending concert or preparation for an audition. You may prefer a lesson once a month or once a week. The choice is entirely yours and you will never be pressured into having more lessons than you feel you need.
Areas of work include expanding vocal range and power, breathing and support, improving pitching and tone quality, and improving voice agility.
Joyce has students with a wide range of abilities, their ages range from 17 to 93. Some of Joyce’s pupils sing for fun, wanting to improve their voice, some want to see how far developing their vocal ability can take them towards a professional career. Some were told as children not to sing and have always wanted to see if they really could and so far they all can!
Joyce is a skilled pianist and accompanies the lesson.
CD recordings of the lessons are available. Joyce also adjudicates for music festivals.
