Sometimes choral conductors feel they aren’t getting the best out of their singers and need a bit of help in instilling a better understanding of breathing or singing techniques.
Sometimes particular problems can be highlighted by certain repertoire, maybe inaccurate pitching or poor blending.
Sometimes a choir just needs a general refresh to remind them what they may already know but in the tight rehearsal schedules have forgotten!
Joyce works with the conductor to create a course that meets the current needs of the choir, tailoring exercises and activities to match their vocal requirements. Courses are full of helpful tips and techniques to try, take away and practise, but most of all, are enjoyable, relaxed and fun.
Joyce has worked with many choirs providing full or half-day courses, or joining them at a rehearsal. These include Formby Choral, the Chapter House Choir of York Minster, Blackburn Music Society, Lytham Choral Society, Wargrave Community Choir, The Chapter House Choir, York. She has been vocal tutor on courses for the Association of British Choral Directors and is the vocal coach for Huddersfield Choral Society, and Keele Bach Choir.
